Admission procedure for architecture students

I was out for my admission for last 10 days. That's why I was unable to post. Anyways, I am back. I was in Bangalore for my admission in BMS College of Architecture. The college is humongous. When you will visit architecture department, you will be completely overjoyed with the awesome creativity of the students. You will feel, Yes! I'm in a right place. So, I had my document verification on 20th July 2017. This is the thing through which every one has to go through. For this, you require each and every original document so that they can verify your identity. Every region across India follows different procedure for verification. But believe me, the verification process consumes your entire energy. After verification is over, you are provided with an admission order which you need to take to your allotted institute and then they re-verify your documents. They even keep those documents with them for 2 to 3 months for sending it to higher verification authority. After ...

Why to study Architecture?

As a beginner's point of view (which I am), Architecture is something that designs, reform or recreates the human lifestyle. And it's great if you are the person behind the enriched living status of people. That's why you choose to become an Architect. Honestly speaking, I am very poor at maths. I have mere 75% as my mathematics score. You may say, Man!! 75 is a great score. But Nah! Students of my class have perfect 100% in maths. Now you can guess how easy those exams were. I even loved few branches of engineering, but maths is the biggest barrier. Few have told me that architecture doesn't require great mathematical skills. That's why I will be studying architecture. I love making things. Anything. I can dedicate my major part of life making things. Making things satisfies me, gives me pleasure. And Architecture is about making things. This inspires me. So, These are few reasons why I wish to study architecture. Hopefully, I will be doing fine with my furt...

Getting admitted to Architecture school

Getting a seat in a good or at least a decent architecture college is a fairly tough task. I secured a rank of ~550 out of ~40000 students who appeared the entrance examination but I am facing difficulty in getting admitted to some of the best architecture colleges across India. Seriously? A person securing 98.5 percentile could not even get admitted to best architecture school across the subcontinent? Anyways, I have been allotted a seat in one of the best(haha) institute in southern India. India practices a reservation system under which certain underprivileged people, people belonging to some minority groups have been assigned reserved seats in the institutes across India. This makes the competition fairly more extensive. But still, students get admitted to these schools. The new session for the year 2017-18 will start from mid-August, I guess. Till then, I will be enjoying my holidays.

A to Z Architecture.

Architecture, skyscrapers to be exact, taught me one thing, “Reach to the top, the bottom is always crowded” And that’s from where my journey started. My passion for architecture grew exponentially. I figured out my interest towards architecture when I was 15. The marvelous structures, the science behind them, the enormousness, the art, the beauty, and everything else about them inspires me, pushes me, to become an Architect. I am an 18-year-old young man, dreaming of becoming an architect. I am from South Asia. I will be blogging about my journey of becoming an architect, i.e. from taking admission in architecture school, till infinity. You readers are great, help me improve, help me grow, and I’ll be there before you with a new blog figuring out my journey.
